NATURAL SILK SCARVES

Bonito Mundo is my art project. I'm Estela Rivero, a visual artist, and my original artwork is inspired by nature: I paint watercolours, oils and pieces on wood. My studio is also where the unique designs of my silk scarves and long scarves are born, wearable art you can take with you.

I believe in the wellbeing that comes from surrounding yourself with meaningful beauty, and in conscious fashion that connects with you and speaks of who you are.

Each design is born from original artworks that I paint by hand in my studio, in watercolour on paper or oil on canvas. From these pieces I create a harmonious composition, artisanally printed in Barcelona on Italian fabric using a sustainable process. They are produced in small batches, locally and responsibly. These are timeless designs, illustrated natural silk scarves made to stay with you for many years, true to the philosophy of Bonito Mundo.

Natural silk is a soft, lightweight fibre that feels lovely to the touch. It is also breathable and thermoregulating: cool in summer and warm in winter. It is biodegradable too, a quality that comes from its natural origin and is part of my commitment to a more conscious and responsible way of creating. It comes from nature, and one day it will return to it.

Bonito Mundo scarves are made of silk twill, a highly durable fabric with a beautiful sheen that brings out the richness of the colours in my artwork. Its finish reproduces the details and nuances of my illustrations with great fidelity.

There are many ways to wear a square scarf: the classic way around the neck, tied in your hair or adding a special touch to your handbag strap. The larger sizes and long scarves can also be draped over the shoulders like a shawl.

To keep its sheen and softness just like the first day, here is the essential care:

• Washing: always wash by hand in cold water, using a mild detergent for delicates and without rubbing. You can add a few drops of fabric softener to the final rinse.
• Wringing and drying: squeeze it gently, without twisting. To dry, lay it flat on a clean, dry towel; it will air-dry in a few hours.
• Ironing: iron it carefully at a medium-high temperature, using steam.
